The Ultimate Guide To Buying A Queen Size Mattress & Box Spring Set

Are you looking for the perfect queen mattress and box spring set? With so many options available, it can be hard to find the right fit. Our guide will help you find the best mattress and box spring set for your needs, from material and size to price and brand.

Understand different mattress styles and materials

It's important to understand the different mattress styles, materials, and other features available. Common mattress materials include memory foam, latex, coils, hybrids, gel memory foam, innerspring, air beds & air mattresses. Each type of material will offer a different feel and may have additional features such as cooling technology or support layers. Take into account your preferred sleeping position and body type to help you decide which material is right for you.

Measure your bedframe & bedroom space

Before buying your mattress and box spring, measure the space where the bed will be. You'll want to make sure the bed fits comfortably into the room you plan to place it in while leaving enough length, width and height for a comfortable sleeping area. Additionally, you should measure your current bed frame or foundation if using one. This is important regardless if it’s included with your mattress set or purchased separately. Knowing this measurement ahead of time helps you choose the right size queen mattress. According to an article by Wooden Street: "Slightly smaller in size than a King, a queen size bed offers adequate space for multiple people and just the right amount of space for those which are "active" sleepers. It ensures that under most normal circumstances, the average person will not have to worry about falling off the corner of the mattress, or having body parts hang over the sides of the bed at night."

Decide on the appropriate sizing for your needs

A queen size mattress and box spring set is 60 inches wide by 80 inches long—but it’s critical to know whether that size works for your lifestyle. Consider how much space you need to roll over without feeling confined and if the total width comfortably fits into your bedroom. If you share the bed with someone, think about the individual sizes and sleep preferences so everyone can be comfortable.

Consider purchasing a mattress & box spring set together

Mattresses and box springs are designed to work together, and since they will both last around the same amount of time, it makes sense to purchase a set. Doing this saves money and hassle, since you’ll know that your mattress and box springs were built to complement each other and support your weight without compromise. Plus, most stores offer discounts or bundles when buying a mattress and box spring in a set!

Read reviews and shop for the best price point

Once you’ve narrowed down your choices to just a few options, the final steps are to read reviews and shop for the best price. Read customer reviews to get an idea of how comfortable the mattress and box spring set is and if it holds up over time. Then compare several stores’ prices to make sure you’re getting the best deal. Shopping around can help you find a quality queen size mattress and box spring set that fits your budget!

It was a good piece of advice when you told us to measure the space where the bed will be placed first before we buy the mattress and box spring to ensure that it fits comfortably while leaving enough space to move around. I am planning to move into my new condo unit this July once I finally get a bed for my room, so I was thinking of going shopping for it next week. I’ll take note of this while I look for a nearby furniture store that sells queen-size beds.
